It’s musical terminology with wider resonance. Every event is a vibration in time and space. Every vibration sets-off additional harmonic vibrations. Musical harmonics are mathematically predictable.
Harmonic events in other parts of time and space are not so predictable. Many are undetectable. The results, nonetheless, have effects.
What a bunch of gobbledygook. What are you talking about?
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction;
that’s a truism of physics we all learned in high school. What we didn’t learn is that every action and reaction also produces overtones that affect things near and far. Sometimes across the Universe.
More gobbledygook? No, fact. Quantum physics describe
a phenomenon known as quantum entanglement. Particles in one group are linked to particles in another group.
Distance has nothing to do with the linkage. They are connected at the sub-atomic level, they are quantumly entangled.
That sounds more mystical than scientific, but it’s scientifically verifiable.
Well then, What effect does this have on everyday life?
Probably more than you think, or, more than you can think. It’s a mystery that might explain many of the inexplicable events in life. How many times have you wondered, “What happened”? “Where did that come from”? “What’s going on”? We might behave better if we were able to detect these entangled quantum harmonics.
Musical entanglements in overtones are easier to control. Any note struck will be accompanied by predictable harmonics. The exception is a sine-wave. Sine-waves have no accompanying overtones. They sound lifeless and dull.
Fiddles, fifes, and all other instruments produce distinctive overtones that allow us to identify them as distinctive personalities. They sound alive and interesting.
Are there parallels’ to musical overtones in the rest
of the vibrating universe? I can’t imagine otherwise. Does everything we do produce certain but undetected overtones all around us? I can’t imagine otherwise.
Is there any way to avoid dissonance, and increase harmony in our lives?
It sounds complicated. It might be simple. Wrath produces overtones in the key of wrath. Courtesy produces overtones in the key of courtesy.
Even if we don’t understand he mechanics, the results
are easy to understand.
Maybe all that’s required is to be nice.
